Choosing Color Combination

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Choosing a color scheme can be a nerve-wracking business. For instance, I anguished over paint colors outside Victoria me, I ordered all the books in the old house painting that I find, and find that they all contradicted each other on the main “rules.”

Finally, the color scheme came to me. I want to paint the house in my favorite color! I love amber and red, so, fair and burnt gold to red, with green temple, dark-shutter green, dark amber, white, and black outlined windows.

Temple green paint for porch ceilings, believed to keep evil spirits, is the history and traditions of South superstition. Even our local history museum is the art of electrical junction boxes painted this color. Black outlining of mutton’s and mullions (wood window dividers) highlighted antique glass and added depth to the window. Outlining the type of paint, such as Eyeliner - a makeup enhancement. The flat front end of the window trim is painted the sash trim color.

Traditional, Southern porches are painted gray, but I think these principles, so we painted our porches a deep green. Anchor color of the floor porch to grass green, and hot during summer days, dark green is cooling. When the grass is brown during the winter, green porches offer the promise of a green spring and relieve our gray days. Dark green paint on some black and provide a mixture rich in the view of Common green.

Color Harmony

Monochromatic color scheme, with a variety of Shades, tones and tints of the same color, giving the impression of different colors and provide variety and interest. One color scheme provides a compact, peaceful, and the appropriate response. Monochromatic colors effectively to create the overall calming presence while Tying things together, but may be dull or boring because of lack of color contrast and liveliness.

The parallel, or by the parties, the color scheme to add depth, energy, and visual appeal. With two or three related colors next to one another on the color wheel, analogous combination of both flexible and attention-grabbing. Relationships associated with the color to bring harmony to the setting. A problem with this type of color scheme is that inadvertently adds fourth color spoils the effect. Parallel combination of yellow, red, and orange, although full of life, keep the room warm, blue, Teal, and green always visually cool a space.

Gifts, opposite, or contrasting color combination’s come from opposite sides of the color spectrum. A warm color, combined with a cool color, creates an interesting combination, such as yellow and purple, red and green, and blue or orange. They are also the visual appearance for most people. Because the two main colors include three colors, color scheme, which is very complete and balanced.

Large body of literature have devoted to the color scheme, but if you’re like me, the more you read, the more that can be confused. Finally, it is sometimes best to just do the same thing as I’ve loved Victorian homes, and you start thinking about the private deliberations by the color you like.
